Stay Lucky--My Re-Launching Into The Blogosphere

I've thought long and hard about how to re-launch my presence in the blogosphere, since retiring Dynamic Meter, my strictly music focused blog. Dynamic Meter gave me a highly focused venue to place the music articles I wrote for the Tompkins Weekly as well as the other music writing I was doing. But, truth be told, it never really found an audience. No bitterness, there a lot of music blogs out there. I read many of them, and some of them are really really great.

But life got busier and I took a hiatus from the Tompkins Weekly. Some of what pulled me away from that writing was the need to be focused at home, on my family. I have a wonderful wife, two amazing children, and also live in an expanded family situation with my father-in-law. More on all this as I write more. Oh yeah, and I somehow ended up coaching The Young Man's soccer team this fall, sometimes with Miss T in piggyback mode on my back. Sometimes my father-in-law would watch her or one of the moms whose daughter I coached helped out. My wife and I both work full time. Needless to say, it was a crazy Fall.

What this led me to decide, is that I really want to write about family--especially parenting, attention deficit disorder, parenting with migraines, and all of the other things that go with it. But also, I want to keep writing about music, which for me is completely tied up with everything I do. In fact the title of this new blog "Stay Lucky," is taken from a Gaslight Anthem song from its album, American Slang. Why this? One of the main reasons is that my kids (my daughter, Miss T, is 3.5 and my Son, The Young Man, is 7.5) and I love this band. And my son and I in particular like this song. Check it out below.

So stay tune. I hope you like what I have to say and please comment.
